Peeping Tom cases in school.

I was appalled when Mr Sung addressed the school about the three peeping tom cases that occurred in school this year. I did not expect Hwa Chong students to be such perverts.

This 3 peeping toms lack dignity in their core values. How could they resort to such perverted actions just claim pleasure from it. They have intruded the privacy of women, they have showed no respect for them.

Just entering the female toilet is bad enough, but these 3 students did not just enter the female toilet, they even took pictures and filmed girls bathing in the toilet. One even took a photo of a female teacher!

I feel that it is already very lenient of our school to not hand these 3 peeping toms to the police. This 3 students have already broken the law, and if handed over to the police, they would most probably have to pay time in the boys home. The school should have just expelled these students, as they do not deserve to wear the school uniform after committing such a disgraceful act. I did not understand why a peeping tom last year was expelled, and none of the peeping toms this year were being expelled. Is the school too lenient on them? Do you think that the students will repent even though the student have been given a chance? A leopard never changes its spots, a pervert will always be a pervert. Sooner or later, these students may commit the same offense again, but i fear that it would not be in school. Just because the want excitement and pleasure, they threw away all the values and intrude a womens privacy.

I think this would be the start of many other cases.

To end of, i agree with what Mr Sung said before he ended :无耻下流,卑鄙无耻

Stomp case

I would like to share my opinions on the stomp case.

I feel that this particular secondary 4 student is a very selfish and rash person. What he did was all in a fit of an anger. With just one article, he had tarnished the school's reputation.

I did not find anything wrong with what the teachers have done. The teachers are teaching them a lesson that they should not leave their valuables behind. What the teachers did was all for our fellow students own good. What wrong have the teachers possible done?

I am sure that not all the students were please with what the teachers have done, but all of them but one, knew that what the teachers did was for their own good. The black sheep however, was extremely angry at the actions that had been taken against him, and hence decided to voice his opinions on stomp.

I just cannot comprehend why he had to post his displeasure with what the teachers have done on stomp. His actions are extremely selfish. All he thought of was that he was treated unfairly, and wanted "justice". He did not think of the school's reputation before he post his views.

I feel that this student should be expelled from school. Hwa Chong does not want self centered students like him. There is no way to change his attitude as he is already Secondary 4.

I am just shocked that a Secondary 4, who is supposed to be matured in his thinking, would do such a thing.

Spain, did they deserve to win the world cup?

Personally, I do not support Spain, in fact i do not like them at all. Although i do not support them, i still feel that they did not deserve to win the world cup.

During the whole world cup, Spain scored was one of the teams that score extremely few goals, averaging a goal per game. To me, they have scored too little goals as their whole team consists of world class players! They are a very attacking minded team, but why did they only score a goal per game?

I felt that for the whole world cup, Spain were playing like "cowards". They always kept possession for the most of the game, especially in their own half. They did not dare to try to take risks and push forward to attack the opponent. Instead they just kept passing within their own half, so the opponent cannot have a chance to touch the ball. I feel, if you want to be the champion, you must afford to take risks, Spain certainly did not take risk.

I feel that the world champions should have been Germany. They were really a team worth watching. Their football was beautiful. Whats more, their squad is extremely young, the youngest of all the countries. Oezil was an exceptional player in this world cup. He pulled the strings in Germany's attacks. He was the creator, the magician, the scorer. I was really impressed with him.

In all, i feel that Spain did not derserve to win the world cup, the Golden trophy should have been Germany's.

YOG opening ceremony- rehearsal

I watched the rehearsal of the yog opening ceremony live, as this was an opportunity that was given out to the whole track team, and i did not want to miss this chance.

When i first sat down, i was really impressed by how the stage was set upped. At first, i thought the reflecting mirror at the back of the floating platform was just a pool of water. But when the performance began, i was extremely shocked to see the performers being able to levitate on water! This was when i knew that it was a reflecting pool.

The other thing that really impressed me was the screens that were place at the back of the stage. The screen were crystal clear. All the videos, photos that were being played on the screen were really clear. I had never seen any type of screen that can produce such a clear image before. I was really impressed.

I enjoyed the performances thoroughly, as they were really entertaining. But i could not really understand the message that the performances were trying to convey as there was no one to explain, unlike on TV. The performance i completely did not understand was the monster scene. I found the that particular performance really comical. All of a sudden, some guy who looks like a power ranger appears and starts "dancing" around with his "light saber" . I felt that his costume did not look really well done for a super hero, i felt that it looks really sloppy.

Other than that i was really impressed with the performance.

On the day of the actual performance, i watched it again on TV. It had a completely different feeling. The feeling that you get watching it live, will never be experienced when you are watching it on TV. I felt that the special effects were much more beautiful when it is watched live, especially the fireworks.

Halfway through the performance, i stopped watching as I had already watched it, and it was getting kind of boring. Because i stopped watching, i missed the best part, the lighting up of the olympic flame.

Overall, i felt the performance was really well thought out and i am proud to be a Singaporean!

Visit to the Peranakan Museum

I was never really interested in traditional culture, so i wasn't really expecting much from the Peranakan museum. I am not the kind of person who enjoys going to a museum, so I was not really looking forward to the visit to the Peranakan museum.

When i first stepped into the museum, I was quite skeptical of the amount of "artifacts" that the museum can hold as it was really a small building. I was taken aback after touring round the museum, there are really a lot of interesting "artifacts" in the museum! I did not expect such a small building to be able to store so many interesting items!

I always had the perception that Peranakans were those of marriages between a Chinese and a Malay, especially after the TV series -" The Little Nyonya". Now i finally understand that a Peranakan is someone who is of mixed origins, not only between Malay and Chinese, but Malay and Indian, Malay and Arabians.

I was really impressed by the diverse culture the Peranakans had. The Chinese Peranakan mostly followed the traditions of a normal Chinese, just that the Malay culture is also integrated into it.

I was really interested in the Peranakan food as i have eaten them before, and they were really delicious. There was this screen that showed us how to make the Babi Buah Keluak. After watching the short clip, i am really shocked to see that how tedious it is to prepare such a small dish. The man had to scrape the contents of the nut out, pound it, and put it back in. I wonder is there really a need to pound the flesh of the nut, would the taste of the dish be affected?

After this trip to the Peranakan museum, i have become much more interested in the Peranakan culture, especially their food. It is such a pity that the number of traditional Peranakans are dwindling day by day. The museum has really done a good job in preserving such a interesting and diverse culture. I really enjoyed the experience to the Peranakan museum.

Task Two

Point of view
The poet is trying to tell us that in the war, children lose their childhood(Chalk and blackboards will not be)as they will be taught to fight at a young age, to become a soldier to defend their country(Who someone will teach to fight). The poet wants to tell us that the children's job is to study and not become a soldier to protect their country.(stanza 2)
He feels that we should give them a chance, to learn how to be a real child and not let the war ruin their childhood.(stanza 3)
If we do not help these children, the war will destroy their lives, ruin their childhood and there will be no more hope for them and they will never have a childhood.

Situation and Setting

The setting is in Vietnam. Children are being taught how to fight when they should be in school learning how to read. This is a social conflict. He portays that war is a place where children will not have the freedom of a child and will never have a childhood. The poet want to tell us that war is a cruel thing and children are the one's will will suffer alot.

Language and Diction
In this poem the poet use repetition to emphasize that someone could help this children to regain their childhood.(stanza 3)
The poet compared the war to darkness. He used darkness to show that in war, there is almost no hope at all for these children to live as children and not be involved in the war.

Personal response
Personally I agree with the author that the children are the ones who suffer a lot during the war. I feel that although the children are the innocent ones, they will still be dragged into the war to become children. Children should not be the ones fighting, they should be studying in schools. I also agree that in the war children will lose their childhood as in a war children cannot play and have fun. They will always be in the constant fear that they may be killed.
War is a cruel thing and children are the ones that are suffering alot. We must do something to help these children. War is extremely terrible and men must stop having war between themselves.

Task one

Background of Children in the Darkness
The author of this poem is Henry M Bechtold.
Henry M Bechtold was sitting in his hotel room in Saigon, just before the Christmas of 2009 and he was writing a poem about girls who work in the park and how men treated them badly. He was angry but could not write anything that did not sound trite or weak. He looked at the TV and the news was on. He could not understand the newsreader but in the background was a boy with a helmet and automatic rifle. Then the poem flowed out. The words just came to him and he started typing as fast as he could.

What Henry M Bechtold is trying to say is that during a war, the children are like living in darkness and they have not seen the real world out there. And while they are stuck in this darkness, someone will teach them how to fight in the war. The children are not having classes in the schools and they may never have school. They cannot escape from the life they are in now and they are not free men.
We should give this children a chance, and teach them how to read, teach them how to dance and teach them how to be children. But the war war will consume them, and the will lose all their childhood. They will be stuck in the war, where there is no hope for them.

Children in the Darkness
There are children in the darkness
Who have not seen the light
There are children in the darkness
Who someone will teach to fight

Chalk and blackboards will not be
To this door there is no key
From this life they can not flee
And these children are not free

Could we simply light a candle
Could we give them half a chance
Could we teach them how to read
Could we teach them how to dance

Or will a war consume them
Their body and their soul
Will their life and blood be poured
Down some endless thirsty hole

Back into the darkness
From which there is no flight
Back into the darkness
Into which there shines no light

Build up to Europa League Final

Fulham vs Atlético Madrid tonight 2:45am. Who will win the first ever Europa League final?

To me, Atlético Madrid are the favourites to win the title, but as the previous ties, Fulham were the underdogs. And in the previous ties, they knocked out the favourites for the title. First they knocked out the holders of the previously named Uefa Cup, FC Shakhtar Donetsk, who were the favourites to retain the title. Next they knocked out Italian giants roma and knocked out another Italian giant, Juventus in a dramtic match.

By knocking out so many of the favourites of this competition, Fulham should be the favourites and not the underdogs. But they have problems of their own. Their top scorer for this season, Bobby Zamora is a major doubt for the final and i do not expect him to be on the team sheet.

Atlético Madrid is not a force to be reckon with. They have a extremely strong squad, especially with strikers like Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan. These two players can destroy any team on their own within a blink of an eye. Fulham must watch out for these two players. Fulham must mark these two players tightly and not give them any chance to shoot.

I would say that both clubs have an equal chance at lifting the cup, but i think the team that is most disciplined during the match would triumph. The team that does not give away free-kicks easily and run out of position would be the first ever Europa League champions.

I would be rooting for Fulham as it is one of the other clubs i support other than Manchester United. I predict that Fulham would win the match 2-1 and i expect lots of drama. Fulham, all the way! Do England proud!

Player assessment

In this whole season, i feel that without any doubt, Rooney is Manchester United's player of the season. He is the heart and soul of this team. He is the main player now. And sooner or later, he would become the leader.

Rooney scored the most goals he has ever scored in a season, 34. This is a amazing feat as not many strikers are able to reach the 30 goal mark. I feel that Rooney has not reached his best, his peak yet. He is still a young footballer, improving every single match. Rooney is selfless, compared to Ronaldo who seldoms passess the ball and always tries to score a goal on his own. Rooney is nothing like Ronaldo. Rooney passes when he should pass, and shoots whenever he should shoots. This is why Rooney is now the best player in the England squad now. He does the right thing at the right time. Sadly, he was hit by a sprained ankle in the first leg of the champions league quarter finals, and since then, he has not scored.

The player that made the most improvement is Nani. When Ronaldo was still in the team, Nani tried to hard to be like Ronaldo. He wanted to live up to the fans expectations of him as the next Ronaldo, hence he tried to copy Ronaldo by doing unnecessary tricks. But this season, he has finally step out of Ronaldo's shadow and turned into a wonderful, selfless winger. For the last part of the season, he was absolutely brilliant. He was magnificent. Hopefully, next season he would show the same kind of form or even better.

Next season, United must take the title back from Chelsea. All the way united!

Game over for Manchester United?

With only a game left, has the champions of this season been decided?

Is the trophy going to Stamford Bridge?

I am not so sure, as with only one point separating Manchester United and Chelsea, anything can happen with one game left. The ball is round, anything can happen.
To me, this is a disastrous season for the red devils. They may just end this season with the "unimportant" league cup. But i think, in order to contest for more trophies next season, they need to go through a massive overhaul. They desperately need 3 to 4 more players.

I feel Manchester United need at least two world class mid-fielders in the team. Both Scholes and Giggs are reaching the twilight of their careers, the red devils need someone to fill the void left by them. United's midfield now lack creativity to create and provide goals for Rooney. Most of the goals are supplied by the wingers, which i feel is not enough. The red devils need a creative midfielder, to open the opponents defence up, and most importantly, create goals. To me, the only person in the team who can do this is Paul Scholes. But, Paul Scholes is most probably hanging up his boots in a years time. So who is capable of taking his place? There are many fantastic players that can fill Scholes shoes, but i feel the best candidate is Luka Modric from Tottenham Hotspur. Both he and Scholes are small in physique, but they can open up an opponent's defence up in a blink of an eye. But Luka Modric has a much better quality than Scholes, that is pace. Modric has much more pace than Scholes, which is very vital for a creative midfielder. This i feel, is what Manchester United is lacking for the last few seasons. It is rumoured that Man U are lining up a 25 million pound bid for Luka Modric. I feel that this is a way to hefty sum. Manchester United are already in a huge debt, are they able to make such signings?

Another candidate is James Milner. He is a extremely veratile player. He can play on the wings, at the front, in the centre, and at the back! He can play literally anywhere! The best thing about James Milner is that he creates and scores lots of goals! This is why James Milner is the most important player in the Aston Villa squad and one of the most sought after player in the world! James Milner improved tremendously after Martin O'Niel switched him from right wing to a centre midfielder. He has been banging in goals ever since. He is the sort of player that every manager wants in his team. Another reason why Manchester United need him, is that he is English! If Sepp Blatter plans to enforce the 6 + 5 rule(6 homegrown players + 5 foriegn players), James Milner would definitely be important!

Tottenham, can they do it?

Finally, a club has broken into the top four! Tottenham have qualified for the champions league next season after beating Manchester City 1-0.

It was a great season for Tottenham, being the first club to successfully break into the top four. Although i am very excited that a new english club is able to play in the champions league, i am quite skeptical about how far they can go in this top notched competition.

I feel that their team is not strong enough to play so many games in just one season. The team cannot take this kind of stress. The players may be overly stressed and not perform. This will jeopardise their chances on quailifying for the champions league for the second season in a row.

I am also not confident that they are able to get past a group stage. The champions league is where all the top european teams slug it out for the most prestigious title in Europe. No team should be underestimated. Tottenham may not be strong enough to successfully get past the group stage although their team has lots of world class players. They need to get use to playing European soccer. Most of their players have never played in an European club competition before, so the tottenham team is considered inexperienced.

But as i always say, the ball is round, anything can happen. Who knows, maybe Tottenham may be able to win the title in just their first season. Their team is capable of doing it, it is just that whether they are able to play 50 over matches in just one single season. All we can do now is wait and see...

Who will win the champions league final?

Inter Milan vs Bayern Munich. Italy vs Germany. Who will triumph?

Both of these team have an equal chance at winning the coveted trophy. But i predict that this year's final is going to be a boring one.

None of these teams play the beautiful passing game that everyone wants to see. They are not flashy teams but they are disciplined and well organised. Hence, do not expect many flashy passing from the final.

The favourites to win the title is Inter Milan. They are argubly the strongest team in Europe. They knocked out the current holders, Barcelona, whom everyone thought was unbeatable, easily. They have a solid defence and it takes patience to tear their defence apart. Their weak point is that their team lack pace, compared to Bayern Munich, who have the likes of Ribery and Robben who are extremely speedy. Inter Milan must not be as over confident as their manager, Jose Mourinho if they are to lift the trophy. As the saying goes, pride comes before a fall.

The underdogs Bayern Munich need to work on their defence. In the second leg of the quarter final against Manchester United, their defence was horrible. Man-marking was terrible. They were lucky to progress into the semi finals. If they are to have a solid back four on the final day, they may be the ones celebrating. They have two top class wingers, Ribery and Robben, but Ribery would not play in the final as he was suspended. But, Bayern can still win without him as they have the highflying dutch man-Arjen Robben to lead them to their first Champions league trophy in 9 years.

Both of these teams are aiming for a treble, but i would say that Inter Milan have the best chance to acheive it. My prediction, Inter Milan would win by 1-0. I hope my preidction would be spot on.

Will Singapore ever qualify for the world cup?

With the world cup approaching, i was thinking about the Singapore soccer team. Will they ever qualify for the world cup?

I think they have the quality to do it, but they lack something.

Singapore is not a country that is able to play flashy soccer. They need to play the boring but effective way. They need to be discipline at the back. They defence must not push up too much to join in the attack as if they want to join the attack, they must be fit enough to run up and down the field, and the Singapore players to not have that kind of fitness.

I think the ideal formation for Singapore is 4-4-2. We need to be solid at the back and centre. When we have a solid back, we can frustrate opponents by closing them down whenever they are in our half and not give them any chance to shoot or cross. I believe that Singapore is able to have a very solid defence. We have a very talented keeper, Hassan Sunny. We have four top defenders. Full backs Noh Raman and Shaiful Esah. Two big, strong and tough centre backs Daniel Bennett and Baihakki Khaizan. But i feel that Noh Raman should be replaced with Afiq Yunos as he is younger and has much more pace than Noh Raman. Singapore need full backs with pace in order to prevent the opponent's pacy wingers from unlocking our defence.

By having a solid midfield, we would controll the possession of the game. By controlling possession, we would controll the whole game. The opponents would keep chasing us for the ball, and this will tire them out fast. Singapore must learn how to keep possession whenever they have it and not kick an aimless ball into the opponents half and hope that the strikers would receive it. Singapore need to play with shorts passes. By using short passing instead of long balls, we would not lose possession so easily. It is also easier for the players to recieve it. Singapore should try to attack the opponents slowly from our own half. We must be patient in attacking. We have to keep passing it around to find the opening. By keeping possession when attacking, we would be irritating the opponents, and in order the gain possession, they may resort to wild challenges and give away free kicks in dangerous positions or maybe even a penalty. We have great free kick takers, Shi Jiayi, Shaiful Esah etc. Free kicks are one of the ways Singapore can score goals.

The frontline of the singapore soccer team is quite strong, so that is not a worry. We have talented players like Khairul Amri who can unlock the opponents team defence in a blink of an eye.

I think other than learning how to keep possession and how to attack patiently, the most important point is the players fitness. Singapore must desperately work on the players fitness. Most of the time, by the 70th minute, the whole Singapore team would have run out of steam. It is during this period that they let in the most goals. They need to train on their stamina so they can last for the whole game.

With the above points mentioned, if they are applied, i am confident that one day, the Singapore soccer team would be able to qualify for the world cup.

We have lost the title

In my opinion, Manchester United have just lost the English Premier league after they lost to Chelsea. This was the title decider. If Chelsea won it, they would have won the title, vice versa for Manchester United.

But sadly, United lost this crucial match. And you can put the blame on a few people.
First, John Terry's winner of the match was offside! And the refree allowed that goal! The refree had just handed the title to Chelsea. What an awful decision. What was the linesman doing? John Terry was almost more than a yard in front of the last man and still he was not able to see it? This is ridiculous.

The second reason was the whole Manchester United team. They played badly. They wasted chance after chance. Miss after miss. The whole United team is too reliant on Rooney. Without Rooney, Manchester United looked lost. They lacked something. They lacked someone. They lacked Rooney.

The third reason is that Chelsea were too good for Manchester United. They were a class above them. Manchester United did not deserve to win. Simple as that.

I can sadly say now that Chelsea are the English Premier League Champions even thougth the season has not end yet.

Manchester City has finally been defeated!

Last season, United lost both Manchester United derbies. But this season is a totally different case. United won both matches this season! What a improvement from last season! The first of the derby at Old Trafford was extremely thrilling. But this match was equally thrilling.

For the whole of the match, United dominated in every single aspect. They dominated possession. They had 15 shot at the goal, compared to City's 9. But the problem was, the Red Devils were unable to put the ball in to the back of the net of our city rivals. This was extremely disappointing. United would most of the time capitalise on our chances whenever we have one.

There were many close shaves in the game, and United were lucky not to concede any goals. Manchester City is the richest team in the world. And by winning two derbies in a row, we can prove that money cannot give you the best team in the world. Although United are one of the richest teams in the world, they do not splurge their money the way city does. We like to give young players or homegrown players a shot at trying to get their name on the first team's sheet. This is the correct way to build a great soccer team, and not take the easy way out by buying all the top players in the world.

This derby may be one of the most dramatic derbies in both clubs history. With just almost a minute left to play in the game, everyone thought that this derby was going to end in a draw. Then Paul Scholes popped out with a header to win the game. Of all people, Paul Scholes was the one to head the ball into the back of the net!

This match was crucial for United as they needed 3 points to continue their pursuit for the 19th premier league title and the fourth one in a row.

What a great derby!

Can Manchester United play without Rooney?

Manchester United crumbled to Bayern Munich's feet when Rooney was substituted out because of injury. Manchester United were leading 3-0. All of us thought the game was done and dusted, but Bayern managed to sneak 2 goals into the Red Devil's back of the net, hence resulting them to win the tie 4-4 on aggregate on away goals.

I found it ridiculous for Manchester United to let in two goals after they were leading 3-0. Usually, no matter how many goals the Red Devils are leading by, they would still work hard to score more goals. But they did not show they wanted more goals. They just wasted chance after chance. Missing all the shots that should have gone in.

I feel that Manchester United are over-reliant on Wayne Rooney. Sir Alex Ferguson must solve that during the summer transfer window by signing someone with Rooney's calibre. Manchester United desperately need these kind of players after losing Tevez and Ronaldo.

The squad need a major revamp is we are to continue winning titles.

United out of champions league.

After the first leg, everyone thought that Manchester United would overturn the first leg and proceed to the semi-finals and finals comfortably. But i had doubts.

After the first leg, Rooney limped of with a sprained ankle, and was the major doubt for second leg. To me, Manchester United without Rooney, is just some average club. Rooney is the heart and soul of Manchester United now. They are nothing without him. But just before the match, Rooney's named was in the starting lineup! I thought that the Red Devils still had a chance of reaching the semi-finals.

The Reds started vibrantly. They controlled possession. They made Bayern chase for the ball. That is the Manchester United I love to see. In the 3rd minute, Rafael did great work to get away from Ribery and played a lovely pass to Rooney. Rooney set the ball perfectly in Gibson's path. Gibson controlled the ball with his first touch and then shot from way outside the box. It was a well worked goal. Butt was stunned. He could not see Gibson shooting the ball. He only managed to see the ball when it was just right in front of him. But it was too late. Great play by United to take a very early lead.

Just four minutes later, United scored another goal. Valencia did great work just outside the box, stalling time for more Red shirts to get into the box. He spotted Nani's run into the 6 yard box and played an inch perfect cross into the box. The cross was met by Nani who cheekily back-heeled it into the back of the net. 2-0.

In the 41st minute, a quick throw in by united which was met by Valencia. He skillfully flicked it over Badstuber and spotted Rooney and Nani's run into the box. He cross it in low. Rooney missed the ball, but it rolled nicely into the path of Nani to finish it superbly. What a goal.

Just when everyone thought it was game over, Bayern Munich made an immediate reply. Just one minute later, Olic scored a brilliant goal from such a tight angle to close the gap between the two teams. Carrick did poorly, going down too easily and Olic was left with a one on one with Van Der Sar, and he finished it beautifully. But everyone still thought that they had no chance to score the all important second away goal.

In the 50th minute, everything changed. Rafael was sent off for a second yellow card. Being already on a yellow card, he should be more cautious before doing anything, I guess Rafael lacked inmaturity. The tides have changed.

Manchester United wasted chance after chance, unable to get the goal that would kill the game. In the 74th minute, Bayern Munich was given a corner. Great corner by Ribery who spotted Robben unmarked just outside the box. Robben half volleyed it in beautifully into the bottom left corner. If Rafael was here, this would not have happened as he would be standing at the left side of the goal.

The final whistle was blown, Bayern Munich advance into the semi finals on away goal rule. What a heartbreak for the Red Devils. They should not have been eliminated. What a waste.

Manchester United vs AC Milan analysis

What a match! Its was worth waking up at 3.45a.m. to watch the match on thursday morning! I have no regrets! 4-0, 7-2 on aggregate! The win was expected, but he score line was unexoected! 4-0 against the second most successful club in Europe, what an achievement! I think now everyone can truly say that Manchester United are one of the favourites to win the Champions League.

Once the whistle was blown, the red devils immediately took charge. They started "bombarding" the Italian team with shots. Finally, the captain Gary Neville whipped in an inch perfect cross, and who was there to meet it? Wayne Rooney! What a header, his heading has definitely improved by leaps and bounds, 8 consecutive goals using his head. 1-0.

Second half, United was on a classic counter attack. Thanks to Nani's awareness, he spotted Rooney making a run for the box, without hesitation, he used his outside foot and played a pass to Rooney. Rooney calmly slotted it pass Abiati. 2-0. United were cruising.

The third goal was scored by the extremely hard-working Korean, Park Ji-sung. A through pass into the box, Park was able to meet it and without hesitation was went for the shot. It went into the bottom corner, no chance for Abiati. 3-0. All hope was lost for Milan, but they continued to press on to get the elusive consolation goal to avoid embarrassment.

2 minutes from time, Milan were dealt with another goal. After a corner, the ball was out of the penalty box, Rafael, the substitute for Neville, saw Darren Fletcher's Run into the box. None of the AC Milan players were able to spot his run. Rafael whipped in a inch perfect cross, much better than Neville's, and Darren Fletcher bravely went in and headed it past the goalkeeper for his first ever Champions League goal. Rafael, proving once again that he has the potential to become one of the worlds best reight backs.

What a night for United, what a disappointing return for David Beckham. He was unable to start the game, but came on as a substitute with immediate effect. He started creating chances, with his trademark crosses. He also threatened to score with a beautifully struck volley. Such a pity that Beckham was unable to stay at Old Trafford, we really miss his crosses.

United are through to the quarter-finals, but we must hope that we would face not face a tough opponent, ideally, i think we should face Lyon. Although Lyon were able to knock Real Madrid(the Champions League Final would be held at thier stadium) out of the competition, i feel they're just not good enough to knock the Premier League Champions out. Hopefully, we not meet any English teams or Barcelona if we want to make the Champions League Final three times in three years.

Who should get the final champions league spot?

Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Liverpool. These four clubs are going all out to grab the final Champions League spot. Who is good enough to get it?

In my opinion, Aston Villa should be the club to break into the top four. They are a side with character and depth. They're team is mainly made uo of English men. They're truly a team from England. Martin O'niell has done a great job, Aston Villa has turned into a formidable team. They have already played and lost the Carling Cuo Final and now are in contention to reach the FA Cup Final. I feel that Aston Villa should get something out of this season, be it a trophy or a chance to play in Europe. They are the team that i feel that should play in the Champions League.

Liverpool, they are no longer the team they used to be. They are now just lacking in something. I just feel that the whole club, including the players, manager and the fans are just too reliant on Steven Gerrard. Soccer is a team game, you can't just rely on one player to win the game. I think this is the reason why Liverpool are just not up to par this season.

Manchester City, the second richest club in the world. Money can't give you what ever you want. City is a team who just buy the top players in the world to help you win titles. You have to groom young players, not just buy the top players in the world. That is what i feel every club in the world should do.

Tottenham, they're just not good enough to play in the Champions League. That is just my opinion. They don't have what it takes to go far in the Champions League.

My predictions: 4th place: Aston Villa, 5th place: Liverpool, 6th place: Manchester City, 7th place: Tottenham Hotspur.
All the way Aston Villa!

Manchester United vs AC Milan

We're back at Old Trafford for the round of 16. AC Milan, the second most successful team in the Europe. But they are no longer the team they used to be.

AC Milan's team is aging, they're no longer the major powerhouses of Europe. The best clubs in the world are from England and Spain. They may not be the force they used to be, but they are definitely not a team to be underestimated. Ronaldinho seemed to have found the magic he once had when he was in Barcelona. He is definitely one of the men to watch on Thursday morning.

United have a 3-2 lead to bring back to Old Trafford. Those three crucial away goals may be the key to advance into the next round. Rooney would be fit to play against AC Milan, he would be the main figure in this match. The back four of the Italians must really try their best to contain him. If you just give him an inch of space, he would just tear you apart.

David Beckham, the guy everyone loved when he was at Man United. Finally, he is able to play against his old club after leaving the club for seven years. He would definitely savour this opportunity to play against his former club as his days as a player are numbered. He definitely would like to return to Old Trafford with a win.

I feel that United would be able to see this game through as they are playing at home. They have the higher ground. They're players are younger and quicker than the Italians. United must not afford to make any mistakes or else they are out of the competition. My predictions: 2-1 to United, Rooney scoring both of the goals and Pato scoring for Milan. I would try my best to watch the game as it is being played early in the morning.

ALL THE WAY RED DEVILS!

Habitat of a mocking bird.

Habitat of mockingbirds

Mockingbirds typically inhabit dense, low shrubs and areas with open ground. Throughout their range, they are common in suburban areas and parks with short grass. They avoid the forest interior, but can often be found at forest edges.
Mockingbird can also be found in areas with open ground and with shrubby vegetation like hedges, fruiting bushes, and thickets. When foraging on the ground, it prefers grassy areas, rather than bare spots. Mockingbirds mainly eat insects, beetles and worms and sometimes lizards.

Flora and Fauna in MayComb
I think Maycomb's residents have grassy lawns which mockingbirds like foraging. Maycomb's residents may plant shrubs like the Glossy Abelia, Fountain Butterfly Bush and Japonica. Maycomb may also have many shrubby vegetation along the sidewalks. These are good places for mockingbrids to nest in. There are abundant insects in the habitat like Maycomb, hence there is a abundant source of food for the mocking bird.

Diary of Scout Finch

Dear Diary,

Today, i have realized what a scary society i am living in. Adults in maycomb are prejudice people. They cannot differentiate between the guilty and the innocent. Even i, a nine year old girl, know that Tom Robinson should be acquitted. What is wrong with the adults of Maycomb? I was devasted when Judge Taylor was polling the jury. The answer is as plain as black and white. Tom Robinson is innocent! Bob Ewell was the one who assualted Mayella and she tempted Tom Robinson! How could they put a a man, who has not committed no crime what so ever into jail? This is just so very wrong!

Would the jury have a clear conscience for the rest of their life? I doubt so. What is wrong with Maycomb, the society, our country? Did they sent him to jail just because he was black?! This is wrong, just very wrong! How could they just judge a person by his skin colour?

I am devastated diary, just so devastated. I am very sorry for Tom Robinson. I hope one day, skin colour does not matter.

Yours faithfully,

Scout

Multiple Intelligence test.

This multiple intelligence test has helped my alot. I have found out what what places i am strong in and what places i am weak in. I just found out i am interpersonal and intrapersonal. I did not expect this result. But i am highest in naturalistic. This was also a big suprise as i am definitely not a tree hugger. In the future, I would know that i cannot learn as well doing hands on activities. I would try to maximise my learning by doing things that is related to nature. I can try to improve my logical thinking by doing more math puzzles. Hence i feel the nultiple intelligence test has made me realise my good and bad points in learning.

Carling Cup Final

Glory Glory Man United! Another silverware to add to our trophy cabinet!
What a wonderful final to watch! Full of action! Who says cup finals are boring?
Overall United played better than Aston Villa.
I almost died of a heart-attack when the refree pointed to the spot. A great pass from Ashley Young to Agbonlahor. Agbonlahor's pace was too much for Vidic to handle. It was unnecessary for Vidic to pull Agbonlahor's shirt and bring him down in the penalty box. Vidic was lucky to escape without getting a card, he was the last man, he should have been sent off. James Milner stepped up, and slotted the ball into the bottom right corner beautifully, sending Kuszczak the wrong way. 1-0 Aston Villa.

Aston controlled the game for the first ten minutes of the first half. Then, the goal United crave finally came. Berbatov tackled Richard Dunne and sprinted into the box. Dunne, trying to make up for his mistake, did a terrific slide tackle to prevent Berbatov from scoring. Unfortunately, the ball rolled into the path of Owen, who half-volleyed the ball into the bottom left corner. This goal was a message to Fabio Capello. One all. Game on.

the 39th minute, Owen chased a lofted pass by Berbatov into the penalty box. Suddenly Owen just slowed down. He had strained his hamstring while chasing for the ball. This was a devastating blow to Owen, who wanted to impress Capello who was watching in the stands. This may be the reason why Capello is refusing to put Owen into the team, he gets injured way too easily. Off went Owen, on came Rooney. This was a blow to Aston Villa, as Rooney was in the form of his life.

In the second half Rooney finally struck. Berbatov exchanged neat one-twos with Valencia, who then whipped in a inch perfect cross to Rooney who headed in beautifully into the net. 2-1. United tried their best to hold on to their one goal advantage. I had a few scares when Aston Villa kept attacking the Red Devil's goal.

Beep, beep! United succesfully defended the Carling Cup for the first time in their history! The first trophy of the season has gone to old Trafford. Hopefully the Barclays Premier League and the Champions league would follow suit. All the way Manchester United!

AC Milan vs Manchester United

Finally, after 4 years, Manchester United is able to score a goal at the San Siro. Not only did they manage to score, they managed to bring 3 away goals back to Old Trafford. This may be the factor that decides which European giant will be able to proceed to the quater-finals of the champions league.

The first half was horrendous for the Red Devils. First they conceded an early goal in the third minute. Ronaldinho was at the end of a David Beckham's freekick to volley it into the net. Ronaldinho was left completely unmarked in the box. You can never give the two time Wolrd Player Of The Year any space or he will tear you to shreds. United's defence was sleeping for almost the entire of the first half. Alex Ferguson gave Jonny Evans a "hairdryer treatment" at the sidelines. The United manager was fuming mad. AC Milan dominated possession and made the Red Devils chase the ball. United were conceding too many freekicks. The first freekick had already dealt them a major blow, how could they afford to give away anymore freekicks? Then came the goal United were craving. A cross by Darren Fletcher that was met by Paul Scholes. This was not definitely not the cleanest of goals. Paul Scholes completely missed the volley, but was lucky that the ball rebounded off his left shin. There was no pace on the ball, but Dida could not prevent the ball from crossing the line.

The second half was a totally different story. I am sure Sir Alex Ferguson had made the entire team wake up. United dominated the second half. Then Antonio Valencia came on for the disoriented Nani. This was a major turning point in the game. With his first touch of the ball, he helped gave United the lead. A beautiful cross from the right wing, met by Rooney to head it into the net. 1-2, but that was not the end. A cross swung into the box by Darren Fletcher was again met by Rooney. That was a point blank header. The Milan defenders stood rooted to the ground, unable to track Rooney's run.1-3, almost everyone thought the game was put to bed, until the 85th minute. Rafael ventured into the midfield giving the ball away. Ronaldinho made a run into the box and passed it across. The subsitute Clarence Seedorf cheekily "back heeled" the ball into the net.

The final score, 2-3 to Manchester United. The second leg will be an interesting tie as AC Milan will go all out to try to win united by two goals in order to proceed to the next round. Hopefully Giggs would be able to play after he fractured his arm, Vidic and Ferdinand should be able to be at the heart of the defence. Hopefully, Manchester United would be able to win the second leg and proceed into the quarter-finals and edge closer to participate in the Champions League Final for the third time in a row.

Arsenal vs Manchester United review

The Red Devils are soaring again!

After watching the highlights of the match(I can't watch the BPL for now as I have only subscribed for the 10/11 season), Manchester United are playing like champions! For the first half of the season, the Red Devils did not show why they were the team that won the past three Barclays Premier League. They have been sloppy in defence, lack a younger "midfield general" other than Scholes, they need a more "hardworking" striker(that is not like Berbatov) to support Rooney. They looked like they really missed Ronaldo for him tearing apart the defence and his scoring goals.

But, this was not the case for the "Match of the Season" earlier in the morning. The first chance by Arsenal was shot just wide by Arshavin. It was a great run by Arshavin, giving Wes Brown a problem catching up with the small Russian. I felt that Arshavin, after pulling the ball back in the penalty box, should have played a short pass to either Fabregas or Nasri to blast it into the net, rather than going for the curler. If Arsenal had scored, it would certainly change the face of the game.

Nani was spectacular, compared to his previous performances. He was creating space, creating chance after chance. Great ball control in the penalty box and not a bad cross that led to the goal. The own-goal by Almunia was a terrible mistake. He completely misjudged the ball, "tipping" it into his own net. Even if Almunia did not misjudge the flight of the ball, Park Ji Sung would most certainly have tapped it into the net as he was left completely unmarked.

The second goal was a classic Manchester United counter attack. Nani again the creater. He spotted Rooney's run into the penalty box, and play a through pass to him. Rooney hit it first time, and the ball was at the back at the net. Great finish by the English International for his twenty-second goal of the season, one short of his best in a season.

The third goal was another counter attack! A great lofted throught pass by Carrick, which was brilliantly brought down by Park. The South Korean captain then dribbled into the penalty box and slot it calmly pass Almunia.

The consolation goal for Arsenal was the cause of a sloppy clearance by Wes Brown, which dropped nicely in front of Vermaelen to volley it. His volley was deflected by Jonny Evans into the back of the United goal.

All in all, Manchester United played way above the Gunners. They Gunners were out-classed and out-played by the Red Devils. I think this match will be a major turning point in the season, this could be the reason why Manchester United will be bringing back the BPL Trophy back to Old Trafford for the 19th time(a new record) and the fourth straight time at the end of the season.

January Tranfer Window

This season's January Transfer Window is not as busy compared two previous seasons, most of the signings are free transfers. What has happened to all to lavished spending that we saw last year? Andrey Arshavin to Arsenal. Robbie Keane, Wilson Palacios and Jermain Defoe to Tottenham Hotspur. Wayne Bridge, Craig Bellamy, Nigel De Jong and Shay Given to Manchester City. And of course, the "infamous" 100 million bid for Kaka from Manchester City. The richest club in the world, Manchester City, has been especially quiet, snapping up the Patrick Viera on a free transfer from Inter Milan. To me, the ex-Arsenal captain is a good buy for Manchester City. They need a general in their midfield, someone to lead the team if they are to break into the the top four, to get that elusive Champions League spot. Maybe, just maybe, at the end of the season,Patrick Viera was the reason why Manchester City will be playing Champions League football next season. Their neighbours next door, and the club I support, Manchester United has been quiet in the January Transfer Window as usual. But, they snatched the promising England Under-21 defender, Chris Smalling from Arsenal. He would be a "Red" next season but, will he be the new Vidic or Ferdinand, we will only know next season. Sol Campbell to Arsenal? What is Arsene Wenger thinking? Is he out of his mind? Sol Campbell is no longer the player he used to be at Arsenal. But Arsenal got nothing to lose, he was brought to the Emirates on a free transfer, if he is a flop, Arsenal can just offload him or sell him, but if he is a success, it may affect Arsenal's title winning hopes this season. Its a win-win situation for Arsenal. To me, the biggest signing is Maxi Rodriguez to Liverpool on a free deal. Maxi Rodriguez is a world class player, not a average player, let alone a player who worths "nothing", to me he worths at least 7 million, not free. Maxi Rodriguez may be instrumental to Liverpool's hope of staying in the top four. Maybe, just maybe, Liverpool is able to squeeze back into the top four.

Other notable signings: Eidur Gudjohnsen from Monaco to Tottenham on loan. Jack Wilshere from Arsenal to Bolton on loan. Younes Kaboul from Portsmouth to Tottenham for 8million pounds.

Things I am posting this year.
